SAZIO PROJECTS HIGHLIGHTS
SAZIO-TF has secured and accordingly surveyed some 67 hectares block of land at Igoma area, Mheza village, Maore Ward, Same District in Kilimanjaro Region for carrying out  its various projects. The relevant land area which has been conferred with a Title Deed for 33 years effective 1st July, 2009 lies between Kisiwani and Gonja Maore sub-towns adjacent to the famous Mkomazi National Park along the Same – Mkomazi paved road which is passable virtually in all seasons of the year. Electricity supply line is just 2 miles away while water supply is expected to be tapped  from the all year round flowing Hingilili River some 6 kms away. Alternatively and depending on cost benefits analysis water could be drilled below for surveys have proved existence of abundant reserves underground. 


2. PROJECT COMPONENTS.
A tentative Master Plan for the entire area has  been developed  and accordingly zoned  as indicated below to facilitate  smooth and systematic  implementation  of all the envisaged project activities :-
(i)                Childhood School                                                     2  Ha
(ii)             Primary School                                                          3  Ha
(iii)           Polytechnic Secondary School                                 5  Ha
(iv)           Higher Education                                                     15 Ha
(v)             Vocational Training                                                   5 Ha
(vi)           Social Services                                                          5 Ha
(vii)        Agriculture                                                                20 Ha
(viii)      Other activities including the Green Zone                12 Ha

3.0 PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION PHASE 1
The above named projects will be implemented in phases and on the priority of their direct and immediate contribution to the social-economic challenges facing the majority part of our society including abject poverty, mass unemployment and gender imbalance. Our current education system is partly responsible for these ills because much emphasis has all along been placed on academic training with little emphasis on vocational trades and skills. The latter empowers students with skills which can make them easily employed or be self employed.

3.1 . COURSES TO BE OFFERED
For the purpose of redressing the above highlighted social ills the Board of Trustee of SAZIO resolve to immediately construct a modern multi disciplinary demand driven Vocational Training College and a Polytechnic Secondary School at Igoma.
Following courses have been earmarked to be offering at Certificate and Diploma levels depending on popular demand and funds availability.
(i)                Plumbing,
(ii)             Road Constriction,
(iii)           Masonry
(iv)           Carpentry and  painting
(v)             Tailoring
(vi)           Horticulture and Agriculture.
(vii)        Dairy Farming and Poultry.
(viii)      Beekeeping and Fish farming.
(ix)           Motor Mechanical and Engineering
(x)             IT and Computer Science
(xi)           Hospitality
(xii)        Food Processing
(xiii)      Leather Turning


Due to limited financial resources and in consideration of trades which potentially might create immediate mass employment opportunities, following specialties will be given top priority, namely
i)       General Agriculture where following subjects will be taught:
·        Principles of Agriculture
·        Horticulture
·        Dairy and Poultry Keeping
·        Beekeeping
·        Fish Farming

ii)    Tailoring and embroidery
iii)   Masonry and Carpentry

These courses will be offered at Certificate and Diploma levels while customer tailored Short Courses will also be provided particularly to adults and special needy groups.

4. PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION AND MONITORING
The construction work shall be implemented by adhering to basic industrial practices and professional rules and regulations laid down by the Contractors Registration Board. On that respect the main project consulting engineer and contractors shall all be appointed on merit and transparently. Similarly the Board shall appoint a team of competent officials to liaise with the contractors and monitor, coordinate and advice on the project progress to ensure it is timely completed and at desired quality.



  PROJECT OBJECTIVES
Igoma Islamic Education Center has been established with a view to provide circular and Islamic education training for Same District Community members and the adjacent regions. The center when fully operational shall provide education and training for pre-school, primary, secondary, higher education and vocational apprenticeship to youth which will enable them either secure jobs easily or be self employed. The Board of Trustees of the Center have, after making consultations with various take holders decided to begin implementation of this project by construction a vocational co-education polytechnic boarding secondary school. Ordinary level education is expected to commence in year 2014 while A – level students will be recruited during the third year when the Centre is also expected to have acquired adequate academic and administration experience.

Igoma is aiming in having in place basic teaching and full board facilities and other essential academic infrastructure to ensure quality training delivery to students. The Vocational  training college 

On the academic perspective the mode and quality of education provided will be in line with the curriculum of the Ministry of National Education and Vocational Training. The Government is currently emphasizing incorporation of some technical training in secondary schools in its quest to reduce the spate of huge youth unemployment in the country. On that account the envisage Polytechnic Secondary school will provide training both in the academic and practical vocational skills. Similarly in line with that paradigm the center will be running a modern demand driven Vocational Training College at certificate and diploma level along side the secondary school. The due training methodologies will greatly afford its students to be readily employed or be self employed upon graduation.
