PROJECTS

2. PROJECT COMPONENTS.
A tentative Master Plan for the entire area has  been developed  and accordingly zoned  to facilitate  smooth and systematic  implementation  of the envisaged project activities namely:-
(i)                Child hood School                                                   2  Ha
(ii)             Primary School                                                         3  Ha
(iii)           Polytechnic Secondary School                                  5  Ha
(iv)           Higher Education                                                      15 Ha
(v)             Vocational Training                                                   5 Ha
(vi)           Social Services                                                         5 Ha
(vii)        Agriculture                                                                20 Ha
(viii)      Other activities including the Green Zone                    12 Ha

These projects will be implemented in priority of their direct and immediate contribution to the social-economic challenges facing the majority part of our society including abject poverty, mass unemployment and gender imbalance. Our current education system is partly to blame for these ills because much emphasis has been placed on academic training and virtually nothing on practical aspects.

3. THE PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION - PHASE 1.
The Board of Trustee of SAZIO which is responsible for development of policy implementation of the above projects, albeit in phases due to financial constraints, is desirous in making immediate practical changes by constructing a modern and multi- disciplinary demand driven Vocational Training College and a Polytechnic Secondary School at Igoma.

However due to limited financial resources and in consideration of trades which potentially will create mass employment opportunities, following specialties will be immediate priority, namely
(a) General Agriculture where following courses will be taught:
  (i)  Horticulture
(ii)  Dairy Farming and Poultry.
(iii) Beekeeping and Fish farming.
(b)                Carpentry and  painting
(c)             Tailoring

These courses will be offered at Certificate and Diploma levels while customer tailored Short Courses will also be provided particularly to adults and special needy groups.

Up to moment a total sum of Tshs.120 millions has been contributed by Islamic community members of Same in the form of financial , material and on self help schemes (Ijitmai) and spent on various activities including title deed processing and  construction of two class rooms which are at the finishing stages.
